Timo Werner refuses to play out Champions League season Julian Nagelsmann insists Timo Werner is still in his plans for RB Leipzig's Champions League campaign. Reports on Monday night suggested that the Germany striker had informed his club he did not want to be considered for action when the 2019/2020 European season concludes in August. "He is currently, as usual, in my plans to play the Champions League. He is our player and has not signed for anyone else." Said Nagelsmann.

Why Chelsea are yet to complete a deal for Timo Werner Comments Chelsea will wait until the end of the Bundesliga season or until quarantine measures are changed in the Uk before completing a deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. The Blues are set to sign the German for a fee of around £53m and they have to activate a release clause in Werner's contract by June 15th in order to do so. Leipzig director Oliver Mintzaff caused panic among Chelsea supportess on the weekend when he suggested that there had been no dialogue between the two clubs. However, discussions are not necessary as Chelsea need only to activate Werner's release clause but given the simplicity of the deal.
